CORROSION-RESISTANT NUTS & BOLTS
PLASTIC COATED NUTS AND BOLTS
Chemically-resistant nuts and bolts with moulded plastic coating (PP, PVC, PVDF) for use in corrosive environments. The anti-acid thermoplastic coating completely insulates the metal of the nuts and bolts from all contamination by acid liquids or vapours. Savino Barbera nuts and bolts are ideal for fastenings and anchorages in aggressive environments (direct immersion in chemical liquids) or even just for use in potentially corrosive atmospheres (exposure to dripping or condensation). Typical applications: electroplating baths, process tanks, chemical systems, industrial products in general.
NON-METALLIC CONTACT ANCHOR
Our plastic nuts and bolts are not only used for the pumps we produce: they are also useful for anchoring industrial products already in use, such as flanges, tanks, instruments and other plant engineering equipment. Savino Barbera nuts and bolts can replace the common metal fastening systems that are invariably damaged by contact with aggressive liquids or exposure to corrosive atmospheres (vapours, condensation and dripping). If you are tired of cutting your rusty screws with a grinder and want to improve the maintenance of your systems, there is a practical solution at your fingertips: Savino Barbera anti-corrosion nuts and bolts!

THERMOPLASTIC MATERIALS
PP (POLYPROPYLENE)
The most widely used thermoplastic polymer for the construction of anti-acid centrifugal pumps. It offers good resistance to most acid and alkaline solutions and can be used, depending on the concentration of the aggressive liquids, at temperatures of up to 80°C.
PVC (POLYVINYL CHLORIDE)
Plastic material with an excellent resistance to acids, bases, saline solutions and organic compounds. PVC is generally used for pumping sodium hypochlorite (NaClO). At low temperatures it becomes fragile. The operating temperature is between 40 and 60°C.
PVDF (POLYVINYLDENFLUORIDE)
Fluorinated thermoplastic with exceptional resistance to corrosion and temperature. PVDF covers a wide range of uses but is ideal for highly concentrated acids. It is not suitable for certain inorganic bases, such as caustic soda. Operating temperature: max. 100°C.

PTFE (POLYTETRAFLUOROETHYLENE) SEAL WASHERS
Dimensions in mm. Data subject to change without prior notice.
In the case of heavy-duty applications (e.g., immersion in highly aggressive, hot or pressurised liquids), it is necessary to ensure the “tightness” of the bolted joint by inserting an additional PTFE washer: the washer simply seals the hole and the screw/nut coupling. PTFE is a chemically inert material with a wide range of chemical compatibility and excellent resistance to ageing, but it has no elastic memory, so the washers must be replaced every time the nuts and bolts are fitted or removed.

EASY TO UNSCREW AND REMOVE
Savino Barbera nuts and bolts can be easily unscrewed even after years of operation, facilitating disassembly and maintenance. They are actually often reused, reducing running costs. The metal components are made of stainless steel (screws) and brass (nuts): the steel/brass coupling ensures excellent tightening and disassembly, preventing them from seizing up or becoming stuck over time.
